Weekend Recap & Menu Planner

It feels like fall today in RVA! We've been up since 5:45 am (thank you daylight savings time) and so now we have had an extra hour to get organized to start the week. Lunch box muffins, homemade chicken noodle soup and laundry! are on the agenda today.

Here is a quick recap of our weekend. Friday, we dined at Champps! This is such a kid friendly spot, seems ironic since it is a sport bar, but they have a great kids menu and a happy hour with drink and appetizer specials Monday-Friday.

Clyde practicing his pencil grip with the kids menu. Sweet thing wanted me to send this picture to his teacher!

Leaves are back in full force. We have already gotten them up twice and this is just the start!

Krispy Kreme was hopping this morning. Everyone needed a little sugar jump start after falling back.

Here goes with this week's menu planner...

Soup Sunday - Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle & Grilled Cheeses

Monday - Spicy Chipotle Burgers with French Fries

Tuesday - Cannellini Beans with Roasted Red Peppers & Kale, Crusty Bread

Wednesday - Donna Nash Chicken

Thursday - Light King Ranch Casserole

Oh PS...I am back on the "cure the picky eaters and eat family dinner together" band wagon! I have been watching these short video by Melissa D'Arabian. I have picked up a few tips and we have documented everything that Clyde likes to eat which fits on one page. It is bad....I have to get him eating better. Wish me luck.

  1. Hello!

I hope this message finds you all to be doing well. I'm reaching out to you all as a representative of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond. We are currently working with Dillard's on a fundraising campaign.

For the sixth time, Dillard’s is offering a special custom edition of the Southern Living Christmas Cookbook to benefit RMHC. This exclusive, 288-page hardbound cookbook is filled with fabulous holiday recipes, color photos, menus, decorating tips and entertaining ideas. This “must have” cookbook is available for only $10. In Richmond, the book is available at Short Pump and Stony Point.

We would love to know if you all would be interested in featuring one of the recipes in promotion of the book on your blog. We'd really love to reach as many people as possible.

If this is something you all would be interested in, then please don't hesitate to contact me at browncd23@vcu.edu about the cause.

You can also refer to this link to learn more about the campaign and our organization: http://www.rmhc-richmond.org/announcements/dillards.

I look forward to hearing from you!
