Miscellaneous thoughts and this week's menu planner

I am loving the cooler fall temperatures in RVA this weekend! We may make the season's first indoor fire tonight. We are in the market for firewood...anyone in Richmond have a good contact?

Friday night, we went to a fall party in our neighborhood common area....great friends and a great band. Last night, we added another restaurant to the kid friendly RVA list....Bandito's Burrito Lounge. They have a great kid's menu with lots of choices and two sides. My only issue was the bar side allows smoking but we were in the non-smoking section and didn't have any problems.

The previous Saturday night, we went to Outback. For a chain restaurant, I think they have decent food and they also have an affordable kid's menu steak for our carnivore child (Clyde!). To see our other favorites, click here.

I also wanted to share these KidFresh meals in the grocery freezer section. They have hidden vegetables and Camille loves the Mac + Cheese. Clyde will eat the chicken nuggets and this week we are going to try the pizza. They don't seem like gross TV tray meals....the mac + cheese seems so fresh when you open the package. They have tons of options on their website and here is a link to a coupon.

At this point, the only way Clyde will eat fruits or vegetables is in muffin form. I used to make banana carrot muffins for him but he grew tired of them. I recently started making carrot chocolate chip. It is super easy to use a box mix and then I steam and puree about 4-5 carrots. With carrots in my mini chopper, I use some of the water from the pan to make the puree very smooth. This makes about 1-1.5 cups of the carrot and I use about half for one box of muffins and freeze the rest for next time.

And for my final miscellaneous thought, I have a new grocery list app that I love! It is called Our Groceries. Michael discovered it and we both have the app on our phones. Our lists are connected so if we are both grocery shopping at the same time, I can see what he checks off the list. Or if I am at the store and Michael is at home sometimes items show up on the list...things like Bud Light for example. :)

Hope you have a great week! Here goes with this week's menu planner...

Sunday....French Onion Soup, Salad

Monday....Thai Peanut Chicken, Thai Coconut Vegetable Rice

Tuesday....I am working late so easy dinner of Barber Chicken Cordon Bleu, Roasted Red Potatoes, Green Beans

Wednesday...Kale, White Bean & Sausage Soup, Grilled Cheese
