Weekend Recap & Menu Planner

Today is going to be a cold and rainy one in RVA! Good day for laundry, cleaning and maybe some online shopping. Work has been busy which is wonderful but I am behind on my household chores! I have a closing on Monday, am working with out of town buyers on their relocation to Richmond and wrote a contract with some friends on a great house in my neighborhood over the weekend. I am so grateful and feel so fortunate to have the job that I do!

I am in a little bit of a rut with my menu planner. So I asked on Facebook for suggestions on your favorite go-to easy weeknight dinners. Love the ideas! I managed to squeak together my meal plan before I saw all the responses. If you have a easy weeknight dinner, post it here or on Facebook.

Sunday - Southern Living's Quick Turkey Chili  Recipe available in this cookbook to benefit Ronald McDonald House

Monday - Keep It Clean Tilapia, Red Potatoes, Green Beans

Tuesday - Taco's

Wednesday - Flank Steak, Salad, Bread

Thursday - Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

I didn't do much picture snapping this weekend. Cute Camille yesterday attempted to sew another Elf on the Shelf for Clyde for Christmas. It turned out pretty cute with red felt and cotton balls for stuffing.

My sisters and I shop for the Angel Tree instead of exchanging gifts each Christmas. This year with the help of my mom, we were able to select two angels. Yesterday, we did our shopping. I am so happy with everything we purchased. There are still angels left and you have until this Wednesday, December 11 to return the gifts. Light up pillows are apparently popular with 10 and 11 year olds this year if you are looking for gift ideas.

  1. I think I'm most sad about todays closing...such a mess for moving weather too! Congrats on being busy, the house stuff can wait! Real simple is my favorite go to for recipes.
My husbands siblings also shop for a chairty (we rotate years, so siblings pick) we shop, have lunch/dinner and the kids have a great time!!
10 years ago my side of the family started donating to charities a little differently. An email is sent out and each adult replies all with a few charities that they like and you can choose who and how much you want to donate in that persons name. Kids are still spoiled ;)
