Weekend Recap & Menu Planner

Our weekend seemed to go by quickly. Michael left for Blacksburg at 6 am yesterday and I was home with the kids. I did manage to work in a barre class with my friend, Kathryn, as well as a super fun neighborhood party.

Friday, Michael was off work so we tackled our leaves! Not the most fun job.

I made these peanut butter chocolate chip cookies with sea salt for the neighborhood party. They were yummy!

Camille, Clyde and I were at the grocery store bright and early this morning. Not sure I recommend these mini carts but they had fun.

Camille dressed herself and of course has Mimi in tow!
Here goes with this week's menu planner...
Sunday...Taco Salad (carryover from last week)
Wednesday...Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes, French Fries
Thursday....Fast and Delicious Black Bean Soup, Corn Muffins

Still on the family dinner track...we have had some success. Camille is trying a lot more things. Clyde is still more of a challenge but I keep putting everything we are eating in front of him and then I give him the option of one backup which is peanut butter crackers in his case. He did eat rotisserie chicken which was something new for him. So maybe there is hope. I do sometimes alter what we are having slightly to feed to the kids. For instance, last week, I served Kate's Italian Sausage Pasta to Michael and me. The kids had noodles with sauce and turkey pepperonis on the side as well as a small salad. Clyde ate all the pepperonis and nothing else. So then he also had his back up of peanut butter crackers. My hope is that if I keep offering new foods, he will eventually try.

  1. My daughter was a SUPER picky eater when she was little (she is 16 now)...so picky that she wanted a happy meal with the bun only when I took her to McD...there is hope...she is a fabulous eater now...so healthy...loves salmon, all kinds of salads, fruits and veggies, and she tries new things all of the time. Gone are the days of only mac-n-cheese or chicken nuggets for her :) she started to really branch out in middle school. Love your menu for the week...will have to try those Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes!

    Have a great week!

  2. Whoa...I thought my leaf situation was bad, but yours is epic! Bravo for tackling it. I've now procrastinated so long I may end up wimping out and hiring someone...
